
President Curtis Heptner

Mr. Heptner is a native Texan and has lived in Burkburnett since 1970. He is a graduate of Burkburnett High School and received his bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology from Midwestern State University and a master's degree in Management from Kettering University in Flint, Michigan.
He is employed with Boley-Featherston Insurance in Wichita Falls and is married to Kim, also a BHS graduate. They have a son, Ryan, and a daughter, Lacy; both BHS graduates.

Vice President Jason Durst Place 1 Elected 2007; term expires May, 2013
Jason is a 20-year veteran of active duty Air Force service. He has worked extensively with training, career development and curriculum and served as a community college instructor and school liaison for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools with the Community College of the Air Force. He earned his BSOE and MAM from Wayland Baptist University.
He is currently employed by the Department of the Air Force at Sheppard and is married to Diane, an RN at United Regional Health Care in Wichita Falls. They have a daughter, Courtney attending Midwestern State University and a son, Nathan a senior at BHS.

Secretary Carla Morrow Place 3 Elected 2007; term expires May, 2013
After graduating from Mt. Pleasant High School, Mt. Pleasant, MI in 1978, Carla moved to Burkburnett and married Eddie Morrow, a BHS graduate. They have two sons, Matt who attends Midwestern State University and Derek a student at BHS. She has been employed with Stephens Engineering in Wichita Falls in Human Resources since 1984.
Carla has been instrumental in revitalizing our PTO programs having served as President at Evans Elementary, BMS, and BHS for most of the years her children have been in school. She has also served as a CIT parent member for many years at each of these campuses respectively. In addition, she has participated as a volunteer for numerous community organizations.

Board Member Ed Godsey Place 2 Elected 2010; term expires May, 2013
Ed has spent 17 years in the education and training field. He is a 26 year Air Force veteran. During his military service Ed has served as a classroom instructor and curriculum developer. He has earned two associate degrees through the Community College of the Air Force and a BSOE from Wayland Baptist University.
He is currently employed by the Department of the Air Force at Sheppard as a curriculum developer. Ed also serves as a Lay Minister, Sunday school teacher and Youth Leader for the Sheppard AFB Chapel.
He is married to Anita who is employed by Union Square Federal Credit Union. They have three children, Sonya, Eddie and Aaron; all BHS graduates. They also have three grandchildren; Kiana, Kyla and Kahlen.

Board Member Billie Gorham Place 4 Elected 2005; term expires May, 2011
Mrs. Gorham is a former teacher, counselor, principal, and curriculum director. She attended school in Burkburnett and worked in the Burkburnett School System for twenty-three years. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees from Midwestern University and her administrative certificates from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas
Mrs. Gorham has five children, eleven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She was elected to the board in 2005.

Board Member Terry Klipp Place 7 Elected 2006; term expires 2012
Terry graduated from high school in Trenton, Missouri. She earned her BAAS and MA in Public Administration degrees from Midwestern State University where she is a lifetime member of the Alumni Association. She is a member of St. Judes Catholic Church. Terry is also a member of North Texas Field and Stream and the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors. Terry retired from the Texas Department of Human Services and North Texas Area United Way. She is married to Mike Klipp, CPO, UNR, Ret.
Together Terry and Mike have five children and nine grandchildren.

Superintendent Danny Taylor
Danny W. Taylor has served as superintendent of the Burkburnett Independent School District since July 1985. During his tenure at Burkburnett ISD, he has guided the district through a period of growth, overseen an extensive renovation and building program, and directed the development of a comprehensive plan for the improvement of instruction. BISD has received a "recognized" rating from the Texas Education Agency nine times since the rating system was implemented in 1994.
Mr. Taylor received his master and bachelor of education degrees from Midwestern State University, Wichita Falls and has continued his education at Texas Woman's University, Denton, and Texas A & M, College Station.
