Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
This week, we celebrate the incredible BISD educators who inspire and make a lasting impact on our Bulldogs.
Thank you for shaping futures, encouraging growth, and making a difference in every classroom. We are grateful for all you do!

Thank you to our community group who worked hard to determine the projects to be included in the bond. And thank you to Josh Andrajack and all his personal efforts on the bond.
Our kids will benefit from this bond election in many ways for years to come. In turn, those same students will benefit the community of Burkburnett when they graduate.
Again, from all of us in BISD and from the School Board, we say THANK YOU!!

Thank you to our incredible BISD bus drivers for safely transporting our students and greeting them with a smile.

Updates will be posted here throughout the week:

Destini Banks is a collegiate coach at Alcorn State and a former Division I student-athlete with a strong background in both volleyball and track and field. A graduate of Crowley High School, Coach Banks continued her academic and athletic career at Mississippi Valley State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Sports Administration.
During her collegiate career, Coach Banks was a five-year starter in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) as a middle blocker, competing in a high-energy conference and consistently adapting to fast-paced play. She earned MVP honors at the Rajin' Cajun Volleyball Classic in 2018 and finished her career with 304 kills and 112 blocks. Balancing a full academic load with the demands of Division I athletics, Coach Banks competed in both volleyball and track while demonstrating discipline and resilience on and off the court. As a graduate student, she also took on leadership roles, mentoring incoming players and helping shape the culture of the team.
Following her playing career, Coach Banks transitioned into coaching, gaining experience at multiple levels. She served as a graduate assistant for track and field at Mississippi Valley State University, volunteered as a coach at Crowley High School, and later worked as an assistant volleyball coach at Alcorn State University within the SWAC.
Destini Banks’ coaching philosophy centers on building a disciplined, competitive, and supportive environment where student-athletes can thrive. She emphasizes fundamentals, accountability, teamwork, and academic success while focusing on developing the whole athlete. With firsthand experience as a Division I athlete and collegiate coach, Coach Banks understands the commitment required to succeed and prioritizes clear communication and intentional player development. Her goal is to build a program that is not only successful but also respected, consistent, and sustainable for years to come.
Coach Banks has family in the local Texoma area, including former Wichita Falls News Channel 6 meteorologist and former OU running back, Jaden Knowles.
Fun fact: Outside of athletics, she has a creative side. At the age of 10, she began sewing lessons and participated in two fashion shows by age 13, once aspiring to become a fashion designer.
Welcome to BOOMTOWN!

“Coach Black embraces the Bulldogs ATTACK mentality, emphasizing the NPH culture. He is prepared to lead the team into the new era of Burkburnett Athletics. Under his leadership, fans can expect a physically dominant team that will continue the tradition of excellence,” Jody Littleton, Athletic Director.
Coach Black added, "This is truly an honor. Having been part of this community and program for so long, I’m grateful for the opportunity and excited to build on what’s already been established here."

Happy Administrative Professionals Day!
