Burkburnett ISD Tax Office is located in the Administration Building at 100 N. Avenue D.

Office hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. *Please note the tax office will be closed on Friday's in June and July.

Go to: Texas Payments Use the drop-down box to access BISD property taxes. Search by name (Last, First), address or account number. The online taxes website offers the option to pay by credit card. A fee for this convenience will be assessed. Credit cards accepted are VISA, MasterCard, and Discover.

Payments

Payments may be made in person during normal business hours at 100 N Avenue D or mailed to PO Box 608, Burkburnett, TX 76354. Please make checks payable to Burkburnett ISD Tax Office. A drop box is located at the tax office in the SE corner for checks only.

To make an online payment you must access this website Texas Payments for the option to pay by credit card. A fee for this convenience will be assessed. Credit cards accepted are VISA, MasterCard and Discover.

BISD tax office accepts the United States Postal Service postmark as valid date paid.

Inquiries regarding taxes may be made by contacting the tax office during office hours at 940-569-3327 or by accessing taxes online at Texas Payments.

Billing

The 2023 tax bills will be mailed in October. Taxes are due and payable upon receipt. Current year taxes become delinquent on February 1, 2024. Penalties and interest as subscribed by the Texas Property Tax Code will continue to incur on any unpaid taxes. 

Tax bills will be mailed directly to the mortgage company upon their request. A duplicate tax bill will not be mailed to the property owner. All other tax bills will be mailed to the address provided on the tax rolls. If you do not receive your tax bill by November 1, you can go online at Texas Payments and print a statement.

Exemptions

Wichita Appraisal District administers all exemptions on property located in Wichita County. If you need information or instruction or have any questions about whether you qualify for an exemption and how to apply for the exemption, contact their office at 940-322-2435. Homestead Exemption

In order to qualify for a homestead exemption, the property owner must have owned and lived (as their principal residence) in the home on January 1st of the year they are applying for the exemption. A person may not receive a homestead exemption for more than one residence homestead in the same year. Contact Wichita Appraisal District/Clay CAD for more information.

Disability Exemption

The disabled person applying for the exemption must first qualify for the homestead exemption. Contact Wichita CAD/Clay CAD for more information.

Over-65 Exemption

A homeowner qualifies for this exemption if they own the home and live in it as their principal residence. The year they turn 65, they should contact Wichita CAD/Clay CAD for more information.

Installment Payments for Disabled Persons and Over-65 Taxpayers

If a taxpayer has either a disability or an over-65 exemption, they qualify to pay their current taxes on their homestead in four installments without penalty or interest if paid within the time limits set out by law. Contact the tax office at 940-569-3327 for more information.
