Our professional development presenter from Solution Tree and Empowered Learning Inc, Hillary Woest, shared a touching connection to Burkburnett ISD! Her grandfather, Tollie McKowen, was an All-State football player for BISD in the late 1930s, who was able to attend Hardin Simmons University as a student athlete thanks to opportunities provided by our BISD athletic programs. He became a lifelong high school teacher and football coach throughout his career in education. Hillary shared a generous donation to our Football Booster Club in memory of her grandfather. She wishes the new generation of coaches and athletes the best of luck in the 2025-26 season! Thank you, Hillary! You are truly a part of our Bulldog Way team!
