Choir Students

The Burkburnett High School music department celebrated a milestone achievement on October 11th when BHS hosted the TMEA All State Choir Round 1 Audition for the first time in school history.

"We received many compliments, the competition ran smooth with no problems and the student helpers were such a delight," said Choir Director Christina Hallwachs. "Everyone who worked at that contest was an amazing example of what we mean by doing things the Bulldog Way!"

Twenty-two BHS Varsity Choir students auditioned, with impressive results that demonstrated the program's continued excellence. The group earned 4 alternates, 3 treble singers, and an outstanding 10 region qualifiers who will advance to Round 2 on November 17th at Tarleton University.

Two BHS students earned particularly high rankings in the competitive audition process. Caroline Rorabaw secured 3rd chair alto, while Thomas Veron claimed the top spot as 1st chair bass—an exceptional achievement in the rigorous all-state competition.

"All of them did a commendable job and I am very proud of these singers," Hallwachs said.
