The Veterans Program at Tower Elementary is designed and arranged to give students an opportunity to say thank you to our nations Veterans through their own creativity, music and written works. This year’s program will be held outside at the Tower playground pavilion where students K-5th grade will perform for an audience of Veterans, parents, and community members. The guest speaker for the event is Brigadier General George TM Dietrich III Commander, 82nd Training Wing, SAFB. Additionally, the 362nd Drill Team from SAFB will perform and the Burkburnett ROTC will present the colors.
A student led Creative Team of 3rd‑5th graders have implemented the program this year by selecting the theme, and holding auditions for students MC’s, directors, and artwork. In addition, they have edited this year’s script as well as collaborated to create the theme song for this year, “The Journey of a Veteran.” Students playing percussion and ukuleles are incorporated into the program.
Over 60% of Tower students are dependents of active duty military. Attendees are encouraged to come early and bring lawn chairs for the student parade. Doors open at 1:15. Tower is proud every year to honor and celebrate the service of our Veterans!
