Homecoming Dress up days for BMS - Sept. 22nd - Sept. 25th!

Art 1 students in Mrs. Berndt’s class have been creating a collaborative mural inspired by artist Jen Stark! Students used watercolor to paint colorful drips, then worked together to arrange their individual pieces into one large, vibrant mural.

Meanwhile, our Art 2 students are working on their neurographic self-portraits, exploring creativity, color, and personal expression through unique linework and design.

Thanks to a donation from the North Central Texas College, the entire 8th grade  at BMS received their own mini copy of the Constitution in celebration of Constitution Day September 17th! The US Constitution was signed in Philadelphia September 17th, 1787!

Today, our B3 Café/Life Skills students had a fun and hands-on cooking experience making homemade butter along with sweet and savory compound butters! For the savory- We made an herb butter with Thyme from our very own classroom plant and we made a sweet honey
cinnamon butter. We enjoyed working together, following the steps, and, of course, getting to taste the delicious treat they made themselves!

We are so proud of their hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn new skills. What a wonderful way to end our first six weeks!

BMS Picture day is quickly approaching! Save the date!

Social skills class worked hard to complete all of their assigned lessons in class about cooperation with peers, game play manners, and perspective taking. Once all lessons and personal academic goals were completed, students earned their game-play Friday.

Art 1 started painting their Jen Stark inspired drips for our class mural that we will be putting up in the school. We also have been learning about color theory.

Mrs. Dilbeck's 6th grade science students made mixtures and then determined if they were Homogeneous or Heterogeneous.

7th grade science classes were testing mystery substances to explore chemical and physical changes. While testing the students look for signs of a chemical change like unexpected color change and gas production.

Vernon College visited BMS this week to talk to our High School Prep classes about their CTE programs.

Robotics 1 students recently built models using the VEX parts. The models were then voted on by their peers. This year we had a 3 way tie for first with 3 models all receiving 15 votes each. Our honorable mention received 14 votes.

Students were given a category prompt (ship/ boat, robot, jet plane, spaceship) and encouraged to be creative in their designs.

6th ELA students participated in a silent discussion gallery. They moved between stations and could either create an original response to the prompt or respond to another students answers. This created an ongoing discussion between the class periods.
