Fifth grade is having #GlowDay and it’s pretty awesome. Major collaboRAYtion going on in every room! #TheBulldogWay #WalkInYourPurpose

For the STAAR test next week, all instructional material must be removed from walls. Mrs. S White’s class decided to replace their anchor charts with motivational posters. What a great idea! #TheBulldogWay

As a way to continue to provide opportunities for our community to provide feedback to our school district and superintendent, we will be hosting periodic town hall meetings through Facebook Live. Join us on April 24th.
Please keep all questions focused on policies, processes, or facilities at the district or campus level. Dr. Owen will not be answering any questions about specific personnel or student situations. Dr. Owen will give a district update and then answer your submitted questions. Dr. Owen will end the town hall with a live Q & A that will allow you to ask questions in real-time. We hope you will take the time to join in on these town halls and we hope you find the information and format beneficial. You can access the Live Event here: https://fb.me/e/vwmk4TnB

No School April 21st!

Yesterday, TIE Club did a #HumanScavengerHunt where we learned a little more about each other and then we were able to tell our own story using a personal #CoatofArms. #TheBulldogWay

These kiddos are making a difference in this big ole' world! They made EARTH DAY 🌎 Bracelets and brochures, bird feeders to take home for our animal friends, and will finish out the week presenting their project based learning Biome Mobile Museum to their peers. Mr.Hunter stopped by and previewed some of their slides and even had to take a quiz that one of my Rockstars created in her slides. Learning at it's best ❤

More pics from our #Unified field trip today. #TheBulldogWay

There was a Chip party for Mrs Trotta’s class was on Tuesday. These kiddos worked super hard on their behavior and it paid off! Each complement Mrs Trotta heard from another teacher… her class earned a potato head piece. Once their potato head was completed… the kiddos voted on their favorite chips and the 3 three were chosen to snack on! Duck lips with the Pringles for the win! 🧡🖤

Our Unified Buddies at Overton Ray are at Crashworks today, collaboRAYting and enjoying some creative time together. #TheBulldogWay #inclusion

The 4th-grade students in Mrs. Johnston's Math class did an Escape Room last week while practicing fractions. The kids enjoyed it, especially when they made it out of the bakery.

Thank you to our Watch DOGS from this week!

#ShoutOuts! #celebRAYte

You never know what you will see in our schools. Today, at Overton Ray Elementary, I got to watch some eggs hatch and had 5th graders demonstrate some of their ecosystem presentations for me. I also got to see some amazing 4th graders practicing for their play tonight!!

We love to celebrate students!

It’s beginning to look a lot like the 4th grade Texas program… Show times are 6:00pm next Tuesday(4A) and Thursday (4B). It will be live streamed for those who can’t attend.

From Mayor Lori Kemp:
Today ranked at the top of my mayoral moments thus far. I had the privilege of spending my morning with the amazing kids who represent the S2S (student to student) Program at BISD, and signed a Proclamation declaring April the “Month of the Military Child” in City of Burkburnett, TX. Our chamber at city hall was filled with laughter and excitement from kids from all BISD campuses, their Principles & Vice Principals, administration, and even Dr. Brad Owen and Dr. Audrey Ash.
The kids and I went live, took selfies, and, a few even took over the Mayor chair and hit the gavel! I love seeing our cities youth engaging in such a meaningful program. A program with the sole purpose of making new kids feel welcome in our community and making their transition into our schools as smooth as possible.
I welcome, and cherish, every opportunity to involve and engage our youth in city government in hopes it will one day inspire them to step into leadership positions in our community and contribute their greatness to the future of our city!
Thank you to Burkburnett ISD for such a wonderful morning, to all the kids who attended, who I hope will share their selfies, to News Channel 6 KAUZ for being there to cover the event, and to our City Clerk Margie Poole for being there on a city holiday to make all of this possible.

We have a few changes to our STEM Club dates, please check below!

Student council had a guest speaker come and speak to them about the Meals on Wheels program. The students asked amazing questions in order to understand the program better. Thank you Mr. Richter!
