The Burkburnett Police Department is sponsoring a Coffee with a Cop event to provide the public with an opportunity to speak with their officers, ask questions. and get to know their PD! Our Burkburnett Middle School Unified B3 Cafe will be on site with a pop up shop as well!
The students in Mrs. Huizenga’s class at Overton Ray are studying the Vietnam War. A friend of hers, who is a Vietnam Veteran is taking his final flight next Friday. The students created cards and letters that will fly, along with an American flag, on his Freedom Flight across the United States. This amazing man has even promised to write back and answer any questions the kids had. Mrs. Huizenga is really making history come alive! #WalkInYourPurpose ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
These kids really impressed Mrs. Kim White today with their camping skills 🙂 Day #1 setting up Base Camp 🏕Here at Ecosystem Exploration Adventures these students will train to become an expert in their Ecosystem Biome and all that inhabit it! With the help of Ranger White and Travel Guide Advisors these campers will receive extensive preparation and conduct research as they complete an Information Guide and Mobile Museum that they will share with other adventures 😀 working Hard

We 🧡 providing a variety of opportunities to get our kids involved beyond the school day, but also being able to get the community involved! Overton Ray fifth grade science classes launched a PBL today about ecosystems. The students in Ms. Rodriguez’s class launched with fun animal print table cloths, safari hats, and of course some delicious animal cookies. We can’t wait to see their incredible mobile museum projects next month!

The 4th grade students learned about sounds waves and how adjusting the frequency (tone) and amplitude (volume) during a sound simulation can create movement.

The 5th grade STEM Club students were so involved in creating their themed park they didn’t want to stop. They will use block coding at our next meeting to drive their Spheros with animations and sounds.

I had the privilege of having one of our 5th grade students shadow me today! Alice is an amazing student and did a great job today!
Attention: BHS will release at noon on Thursday to host the UIL Academic Meet. All other campuses will have normal hours. BHS bus students who are not participating in the UIL meet will ride the bus at noon. Again, all other campuses are on normal hours and buses will run at normal time for them.
At Overton Ray, today was decreed Beach Bash Day by 5th grader Jayley J! These lovely ladies look like they are ready for Spring Break vacation.
