Happy New Year! We are excited to welcome all of our students back Monday, Jan 8th! We hope you all had a restful break. See you Monday! Go Bulldogs!

Join Dr. Owen live in the new year, January 9th at 6 PM.
As a way to continue to provide opportunities for our community to provide feedback to our school district and superintendent, we will be hosting periodic town hall meetings through Facebook Live.
Please keep all questions focused on policies, processes, or facilities at the district or campus level. Dr. Owen will not be answering any questions about specific personnel or student situations. Dr. Owen will give a district update and then answer your submitted questions. Dr. Owen will end the town hall with a live Q & A that will allow you to ask questions in real-time. We hope you will take the time to join in on these town halls and we hope you find the information and format beneficial.

REMINDER: We will have early release Wednesday, December 20th at noon for all students. Christmas break is December 21st through January 5th. Classes will resume Monday, January 8th. Please see the link, https://5il.co/1pqi8 to our calendar for further reference. You can also find our calendar on our home page: https://www.burkburnettisd.org/

BISD has received the highest rating a school district can get through the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas, scoring a perfect score of 100!!

Thanksgiving Break will be next week, November 20th through November 24th. We are thankful for all our students and staff at BISD and hope you enjoy your time off!

We had some #shoutouts this morning as well as some #StudentsoftheMonth. Congrats and THANK YOU for being leaders on campus. #celebRAYte #MakingWaves

🎊🎉Congratulations 🎊🎉 to our Teachers/Staff of the Month for October!
Mrs Moon makes PE fun, relevant learning and often incorporates math and reading into her lessons. She has also been the one leading the way for our Unified Champions.
Mr Donald is a vital part of the culture of Overton Ray and no one works harder. He loves our kids and engages with them on a daily basis. You'll see him in deep conversations with students, but you'll also catch him dancing with them.
Mrs Simpson has been a great addition to our staff this year. She engages students in math/science with her dynamic teaching style. She makes all students feel successful and eager to learn.

REMINDER: No school Friday, November 10th

Good afternoon Overton Ray families! Our TIE Club will be sponsoring a Fill-a-Bag Food Drive that will coincide with the community Turkey Drive being held for Grace Ministries. The goal is for each member to find 5 people to fill a bag and we will deliver to the community center to be handed out to those in need.
If you are interested in helping, please find a TIE Club member to get a flyer or simply use the attached flyer to purchase and bring to the office at Overton Ray.
*The included costs are based on United Supermarket prices.
Thank you!

There has been a slight change in the theme for Friday Night Football. This Friday will be PINK OUT instead of Neon. Here is the updated schedule for the rest of the season. We would love for ALL schools, students, parents, grandparents, community members, business owners, EVERYONE to participate.

REMINDER! All students will be out for Fall Break, October 6th, 9th & 10th. Classes will resume on Wednesday, October 11th. ENJOY!

This is a reminder that our Unified Flag Football game will take place at 6:30 PM this Friday right before our home football game against Alvarado. Get to the game a little early so you can support our Unified athletes!

The BISD track will need to be locked down Monday morning through Thursday morning this coming week. The track resurfacing company will be back to stripe the lanes on the track. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

#ShoutOuts are a great way to start a Wednesday! #celebRAYte #MakingWaves

Here are a few reminders as we go through the week!

Packets have been sent home via students' homeroom. If you haven't received it, contact your child's teacher.
Thank you!

TEACHER WORK DAY WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2023. No school for all Burkburnett ISD students.

HOMECOMING WEEK IN BURKBURNETT! Come join the fun! Line the streets to watch the parade Sept 13. Meet us at Friendship Park Amphitheater for food and our CITY WIDE PEP RALLY! Bring a lawn chair. Vendors will be set up at 5:30, parade at 6:30, & Pep Rally at 7:30.

BISD would like to request help from our fans at our football games. We ask that you please pick up your trash and throw it into one of the many trashcans in the stadium. The stands were left in pretty bad shape after last Friday's game. We appreciate your attention to this at both home and away games, as we do not want to leave trash at anyone else's stadium either. Thank you!

The first phase of the track restoration has been completed. We will open the track to public use beginning today. The second phase will be the striping of the track. That will take place in the next few weeks. We will need to close the track again for that. Please keep dogs, bikes, and cleats off the track to help keep it in good shape. We thank you for your patience and support!
