Grading Update for Kindergarten-Grade 2
Beginning this school year, Burkburnett ISD will transition from standards-based grading to a traditional A-F grading scale for students in Kindergarten through Grade 2.
This change is designed to:
Provide a grading system that is more familiar and easier for families to understand.
Make communication about student progress clearer.
Create greater consistency across grade levels.
Respond to parent feedback requesting a simpler way to understand student learning.
Today, Burkburnett ISD came together to kick off the 2026-27 school year with excitement and Bulldog Pride!
Thank you to our many supporters who donated door prizes to staff including First Bank, ATPE, Polly's Pretties, Helena Agri-Enterprises, United Supermarket, Wilson Office Supply, TCTA, and Bulldog Athletics Department. ATPE, Legacy Insurance and Wichita Falls Teacher Credit Union joined the celebration as well.

Burkburnett ISD is proud to welcome Mrs. Kelsey Gilliam as a Special Education Paraprofessional at John G. Tower Elementary!
Mrs. Gilliam is excited to join the Bulldog family as a Special Education Paraprofessional. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, whether they're hunting, fishing, riding trails in their side-by-side, or relaxing on the lake.
Mrs. Gilliam looks forward to supporting students each day, watching them grow, and helping classrooms succeed. She is excited to become part of the Burkburnett community and make a positive impact as a paraprofessional.

Mrs. Indalecio is excited to begin her journey with BISD and looks forward to working alongside teachers to support students. She is eager to grow professionally in the education field while making a positive impact in the lives of students.

Mrs. Brown is excited to join the Burkburnett ISD family as a paraprofessional at John G. Tower Elementary. She is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of students and believes the joy and energy they bring each day make the role especially rewarding.
Outside of school, Mrs. Brown enjoys spending time with her family, swimming, cooking, and visiting animal shelters with her children.
Mrs. Brown looks forward to learning from new experiences, supporting students and staff, and giving back to the BISD community. She is especially excited to greet students with a smile each day and help make a difference in their educational journey.
