Lydia Berndt is a dedicated art educator and graduate of Colorado State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Art Education in May 2021. She brings four years of teaching experience to the classroom, including one year at the high school level and three years in elementary education. She is passionate about fostering creativity and helping students discover their unique artistic voices.
From an early age, Mrs. Berndt knew she wanted to pursue a creative path. Her passion for art was further inspired by a high school photography teacher who created a welcoming and supportive environment—an experience that continues to shape her approach to teaching. During college, she discovered her love for education while volunteering to teach art to children in her community, solidifying her desire to become an educator.
Mrs. Berndt values the opportunity to connect with students and enjoys seeing their personalities and creativity come to life through their work. She believes art education allows her to be versatile, creative, and impactful, all while building meaningful relationships with her students.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Berndt enjoys baking, cooking, exploring fiber arts, thrifting, and spending quality time with her children.
As she joins Burkburnett ISD, Mrs. Berndt looks forward to becoming part of a strong, military-connected community. Having grown up in a military family and with a spouse who served in the Air Force, she is excited to connect with students who share similar experiences.
Join us in welcoming Mrs. Berndt to the Burkburnett ISD family.

Jessie, Derek, Raina, Lorena, Amanda, Evelyn, and Kelly. Your voices are often the first point of contact in critical moments, and your steady presence helps guide both our officers and our community through all kinds of situations.
The work you do requires focus, patience, and heart. From managing multiple calls to supporting officers in the field, you handle it all with professionalism and care.
As a small token of our appreciation, we've shared a letter from our agency along with shirts to express our gratitude for the important work you do each day.

Q: Can I vote on both propositions separately?
A: Yes. Voters should record their vote in each of the propositions on the ballot. Click the
link to the Bond Propositions page. https://www.burkburnettisd.org/o/bisd/page/2026-bond-propositions
Proposition A focuses on upgrading facilities across Burkburnett ISD. The proposition includes career and technical education with a complete CTE wing renovation at the high school, upgrades safety through new fire alarm and camera systems district-wide, and improves student spaces with auditorium upgrades, restroom renovations, playground shade structures, and locker room improvements. Additional funds would support parking lot enhancements, physical education facilities, and new transportation vehicles.
Proposition B proposes a new Multi-Purpose Indoor Activity Center at the north end of the football stadium. This climate-controlled facility would provide year-round training space for band, athletics, ROTC, and our elementary schools. The project also includes a new girls' soccer locker room.

We’re proud to share that the BMS JV and UIL Choir groups, and Concert and Symphonic Bands swept the Bowie Music Festival, earning First Division ratings from every judge!
