Dear Parents/Guardians,
This is to inform you about a change to the price of school lunches for the upcoming school year, effective August 13, 2025.
Due to rising costs for food, utilities, and supplies, the price of a school lunch will be adjusted by $.25. The new price for a school lunch will be $4.00. This decision was made after careful consideration.
Breakfast will remain free to all students in Burkburnett ISD.
The school remains committed to providing children with healthy and nutritious meals that support their learning and well-being, according to the USDA Food and Nutrition Service. School meals continue to be a convenient and healthy option for students, featuring balanced meals with fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and the right balance of many nutrients.
Free or reduced-price meals are available for eligible students, and families are encouraged to apply. Applications are available through Skyward, school campuses, and at the Child Nutrition office. The link is also below.
Thank you for your understanding and support of the school meal program.
Sincerely,
Stacey Jones

🎉 Today we celebrate Juneteenth! 🎉
On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Texas learned of their freedom, marking a pivotal moment in American history. Juneteenth represents the triumph of liberty, resilience, and the ongoing journey toward equality and justice for all.
As educators, we recognize that learning about our shared history—including both its challenges and its celebrations—helps us build a more inclusive and understanding community. Today we honor the strength and contributions of African Americans throughout our nation's story.
We encourage our students, families, and staff to take time today to learn, reflect, and celebrate together. Education and understanding light the path forward.
Happy Juneteenth! ❤️

New State Law on Electronic Devices (HB1481).
In accordance with House Bill 1481, all student electronic devices (including Apple Watches) will be required to be powered off and put away while on any campus during the instructional day. This includes passing periods and lunch. We will be providing additional guidance and expectations specific to each campus as the school year approaches. Please look for communication from campus principals via email and social media regarding this new law and policy, as well as for other back-to-school activities.
Again, this is state law and all school districts across the state are having to implement the exact same policy.

Bulldog family:
In the spirit of transparency I wanted to update you on why we had to repost our baseball head coaching job today.
We hired an individual two weeks ago, who called yesterday at one o’clock to inform me he would not be able to come due to personal reasons. This is not a common occurrence in Texas coaching circles, I have only heard of something like this happening one time in my career.
Today I reopened our search for the head baseball job. As we tell all our athletes- life is 1% what happens to us and 99% how we react.
I feel very confident we will be able to find a high quality, high character coach capable of leading our Bulldog baseball teams forward at a high level. You will be hearing very soon who that coach who is excited to become a Bulldog is.
