Dr. Owen will give a district update and then answer your submitted questions, and will end the Bulldog Huddle with a live Q & A that will allow you to ask questions in real-time.
Please note the daytime scheduling: Dr. Owen is filming during school hours so that our video students can benefit from this hands-on learning experience. If you can't watch live, you can always catch the replay. We hope you will take the time to join us!

Join us tomorrow, as we celebrate the dedication of the Texas Historical Marker commemorating Burkburnett Middle School (formerly Burkburnett High School and Burkburnett Junior High School). Built in 1923, the school was a meeting place and community center where the population voted, attended musical performances, stage productions, reunions, conferences, receptions, graduations, and cheered on local teams.
The dedication will occur on Saturday, April 18th at 4:00 pm at the school, located at 108 S. Ave D. Street, Burkburnett, Texas.

Join us in welcoming Sydney Meek to Burkburnett ISD, where she will teach Special Education at IC Evans Elementary.
Sydney Meek is a graduate of Midwestern State University, where she earned a degree in Social Work in December 2016. She has spent the past six years working as a Special Education teacher in a self-contained classroom, a role she describes as her dream job. She is deeply passionate about working with individuals with disabilities and supporting their growth and success. Prior to her work in education, Mrs. Meek served as a social worker in a variety of clinical settings, where she developed a strong ability to recognize and respond to community needs.
In 2023, Mrs. Meek founded 'eSPECIALly Loved', a free support group dedicated to providing resources and connection for parents of children with disabilities.
Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Meek enjoys spending time with her family. She and her husband have two daughters and a son.
Mrs. Meek chose to become a Special Education teacher because of her passion for meeting students where they are and helping them grow in meaningful ways. She values celebrating student progress and strongly advocates for her students and their families.
She is excited to join Burkburnett ISD, where she looks forward to expanding Special Education programs and promoting inclusion. Mrs. Meek is especially passionate about helping students build community and meaningful connections with peers of all abilities, and she is thrilled to serve in the same district her children attend while doing what she loves.

Burkburnett ISD Superintendent Dr. Brad Owen recently met with members of the Red River Superintendents Association, State Representative James Frank, and Erik With, Deputy Chief of Staff and District Director for Senator Brent Hagenbuch.
