We're excited to welcome Felicity as a paraprofessional at Burkburnett Middle School! Felicity brings energy and enthusiasm that will be perfect for supporting our middle school students.
When she's not in the classroom, Felicity stays active at the gym, explores her creativity through writing, discovers new restaurants around town, experiments with recipes she finds on TikTok, and enjoys peaceful evening strolls at the park with her husband and baby boy. Her zest for trying new things and staying active will bring such positive energy to our school!
What we love most about Felicity is her genuine excitement for education and growth. She's looking forward to building strong relationships with both students and staff, and she's passionate about making a positive impact on students while being open to the impact they'll make on her in return. Felicity is eager to gain more classroom experience and continue broadening her knowledge about education - because as she says, "you can never stop learning and improving!"
Our Burkburnett Middle School students are fortunate to have someone so dedicated and growth-minded joining their educational journey. Please join us in giving Felicity a warm Bulldog welcome! 🐾

We're delighted to welcome Genica as the new music teacher at I.C. Evans Elementary! Genica brings an impressive musical background to our district, having graduated from the University of Arizona in December 2023 with a degree in Music Education.
Her experience speaks volumes - she's taught private music lessons for over 10 years, served as Music Director and Choir Director for churches for 5+ years, and most recently taught CTE for 8th grade at McNiel (now Rider) Middle School. When she's not making music, Genica enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, playing softball, and exploring all the outdoor adventures life has to offer!
What makes Genica truly special as an educator is her heart for students. Having found validation and understanding in school through amazing teachers who believed in her, she's passionate about paying it forward. She loves helping kids discover their unique talents and intelligence, breaking through misconceptions, and building their confidence.
Genica is thrilled to be singing and having fun with her I.C. Evans students - and we know they're going to love learning music with someone so passionate and caring! Get ready for some beautiful music filling the halls! 🎵
Please join us in giving Genica a warm Bulldog welcome! 🐾

We are thrilled to introduce Heather Ray, our new counselor at Burkburnett Middle School!
Heather brings six years of classroom experience from McNiel Middle School, where she taught 6th grade Social Studies and 7th grade Texas History. She earned her Bachelor's in History with a minor in Secondary Education from Midwestern State University and will complete her Master's in School Counseling from West Texas A&M this December.
"I chose to become a school counselor because I've seen the difference it makes when students feel genuinely supported not just academically, but emotionally," Heather shares. "Mental health plays such a huge role in learning and growing, and I want to be someone students can turn to when they need support and encouragement."
Heather is excited to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff in BISD and create a safe space where students feel heard, valued, and empowered to navigate their challenges and successes.
When she's not supporting students, you might find Heather traveling with her family, binge-watching true crime documentaries, or making those "quick" Target runs that somehow turn into hour-long shopping adventures! 😄
Please join us in giving Heather a warm Bulldog welcome! We know she's going to make an incredible impact on our students and school community. 🐾💜
Welcome to the BMS team, Heather! #BulldogPride #BISD #NewStaff

Hello BISD Families,
We’re excited to roll out a new tool that will simplify how we communicate with you. Rooms, built right into our Burkburnett ISD app and website, offers secure and safe two-way messaging. This addition allows Burkburnett ISD to bring the community closer together. From messages to educators, to events, to lunch menus, and more - everything can now live in one place.
Why Rooms? One place for every message. No more juggling multiple communication apps, flipping between inboxes, or remembering different logins.
Text notifications. You’ll get notified automatically of new messages even if you haven’t downloaded our district app. Safe and secure. Built-in moderation and other safety tools allow us to ensure safety of all communications, at all times.
What to Expect: Rooms will eventually become our primary method for all communication between staff, coaches, families, and teachers. Since Rooms is new, we will still have Class DoJo running at our elementary levels and SportsU for our athletic groups. Rooms will be live and ready for messaging with educators now.
We’re excited to bring our communication into one clear, connected experience for you.
You can find the apps here:
Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptegy.burkburnett&pcampaignid=web_share
Apple Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/burkburnett-isd-tx/id6446094654
The app is not required to communicate, you will get messages via text that will take you to an online version of Rooms but downloading our app is very beneficial.

We're excited to introduce Terri Fisher, who is joining our team at BISD!
Terri is a devoted grandmother who treasures spending time with her children and grandchildren – she was recently celebrating at her granddaughter's wedding! ♥️ When she's not with family, you'll find her enjoying her many hobbies: tending to her garden, baking delicious treats, and caring for her chickens.
What we love most about Terri is her enthusiasm for finding the perfect work-life balance. She's genuinely excited about the opportunity she's been given here at Burkburnett ISD and is looking forward to making a positive contribution to our school community.
We're thrilled to have Terri bring her warmth, dedication, and life experience to our BISD family. Please join us in welcoming her to the team!
Welcome to the team, Terri!

We're excited to introduce Brandie Church, who is joining our food service team at Tower Elementary!
Brandie is a wife and proud mom to four amazing children – three boys and one girl who definitely keep her on her toes! She recently moved to Texas from Cheyenne, Wyoming, where she spent most of her life. While starting fresh in a new place feels a little nerve-wracking, she's mostly just excited about all the new experiences ahead.
Brandie brings a genuine passion for food service and years of restaurant management experience to this role. But what really drives her is her love for kids and her belief that well-fed students are students who can truly thrive in their classrooms. There's nothing more important to her than making sure every single student gets the nourishment they need to succeed.
When she's not in the kitchen, you'll probably find her behind a camera – photography is one of her favorite hobbies! But honestly, anything that involves her kids or helps other children is where her heart is.
She can't wait to start building healthy, meaningful relationships with all our students in the lunchroom. Her goal is simple: to make a positive difference in each student's day, one meal at a time.
We're so grateful to have Brandie join our wonderful Burkburnett ISD community. Please join us in welcoming her to the team!
Welcome to the team, Brandie!
