
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Pearson enjoys reading mystery and thriller novels, flower arranging, crafting, and playing soccer with her two-year-old child. She is passionate about helping students grow academically and loves witnessing the exciting “aha!” moments when learning clicks. One of her favorite experiences as an educator is seeing students read a complete sentence for the first time and sharing in their sense of accomplishment.
Mrs. Pearson is excited to join BISD and looks forward to meeting the wonderful staff, students, and families at John G. Tower Elementary School. She is eager to build meaningful relationships, support student success, and become an active member of the school community.


Ms. Graham earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a minor in Agricultural Media and Communication from West Texas A&M University. During her time in college, she served as Co-Captain and Logistics Manager of the WT Ranch Horse Team and was proud to be part of the first-ever Stock Horse of Texas World Championship winning team as well as a NIRSHA National Championship Division I collegiate championship team. She is currently continuing her education by pursuing a master's degree in Educational Leadership at Midwestern State University.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Graham enjoys spending time with her family and competing in ranch horse versatility events. Her passion for agriculture and the influence of outstanding teachers and mentors inspired her to pursue a career in education. She is committed to helping students discover their own interests and opportunities within agriculture while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
Ms. Graham is excited to begin her teaching career with BISD and looks forward to getting to know her students, building meaningful relationships, and becoming an active member of the BISD family. She is eager to learn from her colleagues and help students grow and succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Mrs. West brings 28 years of educational experience to the classroom, having taught students from Pre-K through 8th grade. She earned a degree in Criminal Justice and later completed a degree in Early Childhood Education. Throughout her career, Mrs. West has been dedicated to fostering student growth and creating meaningful learning experiences for children of all ages.
Coming from a long line of educators, Mrs. West witnessed firsthand the positive impact teachers have on the lives of students and was inspired to pursue a career in education herself.
Outside the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, reading, following OU sports, and traveling. Mrs. West is excited to return to Burkburnett ISD, where she previously taught, and looks forward to once again being part of a district and community known for its outstanding school spirit and strong support of students and staff.

STAAR and EOC Score Instructions
Students enrolled in the CNA program participate in clinical experiences within a long-term care facility. Students in the PCT program participate in clinical experiences within a hospital setting, where they are exposed to a fast-paced healthcare environment and gain experience assisting with patient care, observing advanced procedures, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
These clinical opportunities provide students with valuable real-world experience and prepare them for entry-level healthcare positions.


In addition to developing technical skills, students participate in SkillsUSA competitions, volunteer at nursing homes, take part in Family Night at the Park, and provide free back-to-school haircuts for the community.

BHS Career and Technical Education students enrolled in Animal Science courses actively participate in Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAEs), gaining valuable hands-on learning through projects in livestock production, agricultural mechanics, entrepreneurship, and agricultural placement opportunities.
These experiences allow students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings while developing technical skills, responsibility, and career readiness. Many students also compete in the Agriscience Fair, where they conduct research and present findings related to agricultural issues and innovations.participate in a wide variety of FFA Leadership.

Mrs. Shafer is a CTE Plant Science Instructor at BHS. One unique aspect of the BHS Plant and Soil Science program is the strong emphasis on hands-on, real-world learning through greenhouse production and floral design. Students are not just learning concepts in a classroom, they are actively growing, designing, and managing living plant systems that connect directly to industry practices.
Our program also offers a diverse pathway within Plant Science, allowing students to specialize in both greenhouse operations and floral design. This gives students the opportunity to explore multiple career avenues such as horticulture, retail floral design, event planning, and greenhouse management, while still building a strong foundation in plant and soil science.
Another unique feature is our integration of leadership and career development through FFA. Students participate in Leadership Development Events, Career Development Events, Flower Cup competitions, and supervised agricultural experiences, which allow them to apply classroom knowledge in competitive and professional environments.
We also emphasize industry readiness through practicum experiences, where students gain real-world exposure to agricultural workplaces and expectations. This helps students build confidence, responsibility, and employability skills before graduating.

Mrs. Unruh earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Midwestern State University and is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at Texas Tech University.
Mrs. Unruh has experience in healthcare, mental health, and community-based settings, where she has provided case management, advocacy, and support services to individuals and families. Her diverse background has equipped her with the skills to build meaningful relationships, connect people with resources, and support positive outcomes for those she serves.
Outside of work, Mrs. Unruh enjoys exploring local coffee shops, listening to podcasts, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs, Ollie and Tucker.
Mrs. Unruh is excited to join Burkburnett ISD and looks forward to helping to grow social work services within the district. Drawing from her own experiences in a rural community, she understands the unique strengths and challenges families face and is eager to strengthen connections between schools, families, and community resources. She is honored to serve the Burkburnett community and is committed to making a positive and lasting impact on the lives of students and their families.

Mr. Lewis is a CTE Welding Instructor at BHS. "I believe that our ability to train and certify on-site without students ever needing to step foot in a technical college is an amazing aspect of my program. We are also versatile in the fact that we can fabricate so many objects in-house with BISD equipment. That gives us the edge!"

Mrs. Ludtke is a graduate of Midwestern State University, where she earned a degree in Social Work in 2002. She brings 24 years of experience as a social worker, including 17 years specializing in Head Start programs, where she has dedicated her career to supporting children and families during their most important developmental years.
Mrs. Ludtke is passionate about helping students overcome challenges and achieve success. As a school social worker, she values the opportunity to empower children, support families, and serve as a vital connection between home, school, and the community. She believes that every interaction is an opportunity to build confidence, promote stability, and help students develop the skills they need to thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Outside of work, Mrs. Ludtke enjoys spending time with her family, tackling DIY projects, crafting, and reading.
Mrs. Ludtke is excited to join Burkburnett ISD and looks forward to collaborating with the district’s dedicated team, empowering families, championing student well-being, and helping early learners build a strong foundation for lifelong success.

Mrs. McWilliams earned a master’s degree from the University of North Texas and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Texas Wesleyan University.
Throughout her career, Mrs. McWilliams has served in a variety of educational roles, including paraprofessional and substitute teacher at Burkburnett High School, adjunct professor and teaching fellow at the University of North Texas, and program director and classroom teacher in the DFW area. She has also spent many years as a private vocal and dramatic instructor.
Mrs. McWilliams chose a career in education because it combines her passion for creativity, structure, and meaningful connections with students. Drawing from her background in music and special education, she thrives on creating engaging learning experiences and helping students discover their strengths. She finds great joy in witnessing the moment when a student gains confidence, masters a new skill, or realizes their potential.
As she joins the BMS family, Mrs. McWilliams is excited to serve as a Life Skills teacher and continue supporting students in a district she knows and loves. As a Burkburnett resident and longtime member of the BISD community, she values the district’s commitment to excellence, respect, and student success. She is especially inspired by BISD’s Unified program and looks forward to contributing to a culture that fosters belonging, teamwork, and achievement for all students.
