
7th grade science classes integrating some fashion design into their class by designing their own lab coats!


6th grade math students are working on converting fractions to decimals. They are doing an excellent job so far!



BISD will be resurfacing our track beginning the end of this week. Our track is due for this routine maintenance in order for us to host track meets. Unfortunately, we will need to lock down the track for public use during this project. We appreciate the public's understanding.


Ms. Rhoads and our BMS Art classes had guest speakers today - Julie Nawrocki, Director of Wichita Area Food Bank and the coordinator of Empty Bowls Wichita Falls, Frances Sims. The art classes will be participating in making and donating bowls for the Food Bank.

BMS student council 2022-23 received 3 recognition awards. Fewer than 20% of TASC member schools are recognized in one or more areas. This is a wonderful accomplishment- so proud of BMS STUCO!!!




Important update regarding e-cigarettes (vapes) laws on campus. Texas Legislature recently passed Senate Bill 2428 which states: Beginning the 2023-2024 school year, any student caught in possession of an e-cigarette (vape) will automatically placed in DAEP.

All incoming 7th graders are required to have an updated immunization record on file before school starts.

Aug. 3rd at 6 pm in BMS Auditorium. This is a repeat session from the spring for all incoming 6th graders.

AREA BAND RESULTS!
Congrats! BMS Symphonic Band had a great showing at Area OPS!
Our "Darklands March" received 3rd place!! They only take the top 2 marches to compete at State. But- WOW, what a FANTASTIC SHOWING BAND! SOOO VERY CLOSE!!
Our other two songs were in the "music selections" category of which the top 3 are selected to compete at State. "Our Kingsland Spring" was 10th place & "Moscow, 1941" was 12th place.
The BMS Band represented Burk very well at Area!! I'm so very proud of all of our band kids and their accomplishments! Congratulations Band!!

Symphonic Band also placed 1st in Concert with their recording of Our Kingsland Spring and 3rd place for Moscow, 1941! All three songs will advance to compete at the Area level! Way to go Band! In May, we submitted Symphonic Band's 2023 UIL recordings to OPS (Outstanding Performance Series). This is a direct competition between MS Bands. Judges select a couple of bands from the Region to advance to the Area Competition. From there, the Area judges select a couple of bands to compete at the State level in July 2023.
