Bulldog Biker Gang Summer Camp June 25-29th Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30-7:30 pm and Saturday at 8:30-9:30 am in the Bulldog Stadium parking lot, 801 Coulter Dr, Burkburnett, TX 76354. There will be more group rides over the summer to prepare riders for the HHH races. Please follow us on Facebook for later dates and times. Riders must have their own two-wheeled bike, personal helmet, and a bright shirt that they will bring to camp. Riders must wear bright clothing to be seen on the road. Bikes must be checked for fit by the coaches before the parent or guardian leaves. Rider's seats should be high enough for the rider to be on their tippy toes. This camp will teach safe street riding skills, bike handling skills, maintenance, and train for the HHH 10k or 25 mile. Riders will receive a bright training jersey, water bottle, drawstring bag, and a free ticket to ride in the HHH 10k race with an adult registration. The drawstring bag is for our riders to carry their water bottle. Many child size bikes are too small to attach a water bottle cage. The camp fee is $15. Mark your calendars! Tune in for Dr. Owen's live broadcast for our final Bulldog Huddle of the 2023-2024 School Year, happening on Tuesday, May 21st at 6 PM on our Burkburnett ISD Facebook Page. As a way to continue to provide opportunities for our community to provide feedback to our school district and superintendent, we will be hosting periodic town hall meetings through Facebook Live. We encourage you to submit your questions in advance by replying to the email associated with the post or comment on the FB post. Please keep all questions focused on policies, processes, or facilities at the district or campus level. Dr. Owen will not be answering any questions about specific personnel or student situations. Dr. Owen will give a district update and then answer your submitted questions. Dr. Owen will end the town hall with a live Q & A that will allow you to ask questions in real-time. We hope you will take the time to join in on these town halls and we hope you find the information and format beneficial.

ATTENTION: We are having problems with drivers driving around our buses when they are stopped to pick up or drop of our students. When a bus is stopped with its flashers on and stop signs and arm extended, it is illegal to drive around them. Please stop and wait for the bus to resume its route. We conducted a random test of this last Thursday. We had 19 people drive around our buses while the flashers were on and students were being dropped off. This is extremely dangerous and is going to result in a student getting hit. We are notifying the local police department of this issue and violators run the risk of being pulled over and ticketed. We ask you to please be patient and wait for our buses to resume their routes. A student getting hurt or killed is not worth a couple of minutes. Thank you for your help in this matter.

At last night's School Board meeting, we were able to honor some of our amazing Teachers and Staff. We recognized our Campus Teachers of the Year. These outstanding educators were selected by their peers and colleagues as their much-deserving representatives for their respective campuses. The Teachers of the Year for 2024 are: IC Evans: Brittany Boyd John Tower: Amber Reitz Overton Ray: Rachel Moxley Burkburnett Middle School: Robin McAdams Burkburnett High School: Robyn Little Gateway Accelerated Academy: Tiffany Gunnels We also recognized a couple of our other departments. Our Transportation Dept announced our dedicated Bus Driver of the Year, Maddison Hickman. We also honored the leadership team in our Child Nutrition Department for passing our major audit with no issues! Those honored were Child Nutrition Director Deb Welch and her two main assistants Pam Cravens and Rosalinda Dominguez. All of these employees and colleagues are the epitome of The Bulldog Way, and we couldn't be the district we are without them.

There will be no school Friday, March 29th and Monday, April 1st. These days are designated as bad weather make-up days on the school calendar. Join us Wednesday, March 27th at the Burkburnett High School track for the Unified Track Meet. Opening ceremonies will start at 9:30 am and events will follow at 10 am. All Unified track teams from each school at Burkburnett ISD will be participating.

This is just a reminder that tomorrow is a teacher work day. School will resume Tuesday, March 19th.
