Screams of joy and excitement could be heard under the playground pavilion this morning, as 5th grade students designed an experiment that used tug-of-war to test the effects of force and motion. The students happiness was quite evident! They loved it so much! Masterful teaching, Ms. Bigford and Mrs. Reitz!

5th grade Art class has been learning about shapes and forms the last couple weeks. Today the focus was folding an origami paper eye that blinks. This craft helps the students in developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and spatial reasoning through paper folding and creasing. It also boosts concentration and patience, encourages problem-solving, and fosters creativity as they transform paper. Thank you for being an amazing teacher, Mrs. Spring!

Last night was one of the best events ever in Burkburnett ISD. The first annual Unified Football Game took place at Bulldog Stadium! Touchdowns were aplenty to the roaring crowd, the announcer was loud and proud announcing every name, the cheerleaders, the Boomtown Babes, and the flag runners plus much more added to the excitement level of a college football game! John Tower Unified students proudly did cartwheels and skipped through the giant inflatable Bulldog and line of cheerleaders! Burkburnett ISD, where "All means all," you simply are the BEST!

Look at the joy in our students' faces as they put their coins in our Faith Mission Box! Thank you Faith Mission for decorating a box to keep in our school, so that the students can learn compassion by dropping extra coins they may have inside the box. The students know that the coins help provide a hot meal and/or warm bed for those who may need it. Oh, their sweet faces! #TheBullldogWay

Congratulations to FIRST GRADE on winning the Golden Shoe Trophy! A big thank you to all parents/grandparents who came out to our "Golden Shoe Day." it was just wonderful seeing each and every one of you! Aside from the "Golden Shoe Trophy" getting carried by the wind and falling off the table to the ground (the shoe broke off of course!), the day was a celebration of family and love and exercise, and I am grateful to each and every volunteer who helped in ANY way!

Dr. Owen will be live on our Burkburnett ISD Facebook page on Wednesday, October 8th at 12:10 PM. If you have any questions for Dr. Owen, please ask them here 👇 in the comment section below in advance, and he will address them live. Please keep all questions focused on policies, processes, or facilities at the district or campus level. Dr. Owen will not be answering any questions about specific personnel or student situations. Dr. Owen will give a district update and then answer your submitted questions. Dr. Owen will end the huddle with a live Q & A that will allow you to ask questions in real-time.
Please note the daytime scheduling: Dr. Owen is filming during school hours so that our video students can benefit from this hands-on learning experience. If you can't watch live, you can always catch the replay! We hope you will take the time to join in on these huddles and we hope you find the information and format beneficial.
