Today was Tower's third grade STEM Club's last meeting. Students had an incredible design challenge that required a lot of critical thinking. The task was to create a Rube Goldberg chain reaction using a marble. The challenge was not only accepted, but mastered! Way to go 3rd graders!! ❤️

Third graders at Tower are learning to engineer a compound machine to perform the task of rescuing a trapped tiger. Students are using the engineering design process to design and create their prototype which we will evaluate next week.

Selflessness. Leadership. Oh, the JOY in seeing our students exude leadership at a young age! Kamryn has been Squad 2 Captain In PE this month. Her Squad got the most points for doing the right thing and other things, so Kamryn's Squad got to choose a small prize. When this happened, Kamryn stepped ASIDE and let the 4 OTHER people in her squad choose a prize before herself! It was so charitable and compassionate! These are the things we teachers get to see on a daily basis, and it is truly inspiring! #TheBulldogWay

Today 4th graders worked in teams, in partners, and as individuals to battle through poetry and drama comprehension questions!

Last year, I attended the Boomtown Babes' Showcase and was blown away with all the sparkles and the dances, and it was just incredible! It is this weekend starting tonight at six and then two performances tomorrow. Family entertainment at its finest, and only $5 to get in! It was wonderful having Mrs. Hawkins come to our Student 2 Student meeting to share about her passion in service and how she came to volunteer with the National Marrow Donor Program. Finding a way to provide service to others, even in the smallest of ways, helps spread kindness. We are proud of our S2S ambassadors in all they do and enjoyed our discussions together about volunteering and service.

We are so proud of our Tower students! With almost 60% of our students being military connected in some way, we want to recognize them during BISD's official Purple Up day, Wednesday April 17th. As each of our students are touched by this military life (those who have military families, and those who have had friends come and go due to the military) we are showering them ALL this coming Wednesday morning in PURPLE! We are putting a call out to ALL military who can come and cheer in our students that morning. Please be here by 0655 so we can line up and be ready to share a smile for our students. #MOMC #PurpleUp

Kindergarten students and families had a blast at John G Towers Family Game On Learning Night! 🧩 ✏️Various Math and ELAR games were played and each family was able to take a copy of the game home with their child for extra practice and to play again! 🖤🧡
