We're excited to welcome Victoria as our newest bus driver! Victoria brings a unique background to our transportation team - before moving to the area, she drove semis for an amazing company. While it's not a semi, she knows she's going to love getting behind the wheel of a school bus!
When Victoria isn't driving, you'll find her staying busy with her family at softball tournaments, heading to the lake, or casting a line while fishing. She and her husband are always on the go with their kids' soccer and softball activities - they're constantly going, going, going!
Her active lifestyle and experience juggling busy schedules make her perfect for keeping up with our students' transportation needs.
Victoria is thrilled about becoming part of the BISD team and looks forward to safely transporting our precious cargo to and from school each day. Her professional driving experience and genuine enthusiasm for being part of our community will be such valuable assets.

We're thrilled to welcome Eric to Tower Elementary! Eric is a proud graduate of Midwestern State University (December 2010) with a degree in Sport and Fitness Management and a minor in Business Administration. He brings 14 years of teaching experience to our team, including 8 years as a coach.
When he's not in the classroom, Eric loves movies, rock climbing, hiking, camping, and anything that keeps him active and moving! His adventurous spirit and love for staying active will be such an asset to our students.
Eric has an interesting story about becoming an educator - he says it honestly never crossed his mind at first, but teaching kind of chose him! Sometimes the best paths find us when we least expect them.
What makes this move extra special is that Eric is truly joining the BISD family in every sense. His wife teaches 8th grade math in our district, and both of his children attend BISD schools!
He's excited about having the same schedule as his family, spending less time driving and more time focusing on personal growth. Most importantly, he's impressed by how BISD genuinely loves and supports both teachers and students - not just in words, but in actions that prove it's truly our motto.

We're excited to welcome Felicity as a paraprofessional at Burkburnett Middle School! Felicity brings energy and enthusiasm that will be perfect for supporting our middle school students.
When she's not in the classroom, Felicity stays active at the gym, explores her creativity through writing, discovers new restaurants around town, experiments with recipes she finds on TikTok, and enjoys peaceful evening strolls at the park with her husband and baby boy. We're delighted to welcome Genica as the new music teacher at I.C. Evans Elementary! Genica brings an impressive musical background to our district, having graduated from the University of Arizona in December 2023 with a degree in Music Education.
Her experience speaks volumes - she's taught private music lessons for over 10 years, served as Music Director and Choir Director for churches for 5+ years, and most recently taught CTE for 8th grade at McNiel (now Rider) Middle School. When she's not making music, Genica enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, playing softball, and exploring all the outdoor adventures life has to offer!
What makes Genica truly special as an educator is her heart for students. Having found validation and understanding in school through amazing teachers who believed in her, she's passionate about paying it forward. She loves helping kids discover their unique talents and intelligence, breaking through misconceptions, and building their confidence.

We are thrilled to introduce Heather Ray, our new counselor at Burkburnett Middle School!
Heather brings six years of classroom experience from McNiel Middle School, where she taught 6th grade Social Studies and 7th grade Texas History. She earned her Bachelor's in History with a minor in Secondary Education from Midwestern State University and will complete her Master's in School Counseling from West Texas A&M this December.
"I chose to become a school counselor because I've seen the difference it makes when students feel genuinely supported not just academically, but emotionally," Heather shares. "Mental health plays such a huge role in learning and growing, and I want to be someone students can turn to when they need support and encouragement."
Heather is excited to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff in BISD and create a safe space where students feel heard, valued, and empowered to navigate their challenges and successes.
When she's not supporting students, you might find Heather traveling with her family, binge-watching true crime documentaries, or making those "quick" Target runs that somehow turn into hour-long shopping adventures! 😄

We’re excited to roll out a new tool that will simplify how we communicate with you. Rooms, built right into our Burkburnett ISD app and website, offers secure and safe two-way messaging. This addition allows Burkburnett ISD to bring the community closer together. From messages to educators, to events, to lunch menus, and more - everything can now live in one place.
Why Rooms? One place for every message. No more juggling multiple communication apps, flipping between inboxes, or remembering different logins.
Text notifications. You’ll get notified automatically of new messages even if you haven’t downloaded our district app. Safe and secure. Built-in moderation and other safety tools allow us to ensure safety of all communications, at all times.
What to Expect: Rooms will eventually become our primary method for all communication between staff, coaches, families, and teachers. Since Rooms is new, we will still have Class DoJo running at our elementary levels and SportsU for our athletic groups. Rooms will be live and ready for messaging with educators now.
