Last night, the BISD School Board approved the 2026-27 school calendar. The biggest difference is that our Spring Break will be one week later, from March 15 - 19. This was made possible through collaboration with WFISD, MSU, and Venon College. We wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

BISD would like to introduce our new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach! Coach Littleton comes to BISD with a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a coach. As a player, Coach Littleton played college football for Baylor (linebacker, deep snapper) and played in 7 seasons in the NFL and NFL Europe (World Bowl Champion there). Coach Littleton has 21 Years of Experience at the 2A, 3A, 4A, and 6A levels. He was the Defensive Coordinator for 10 years at 4A perennial powerhouse Kennedale. During this span, Kennedale’s football team went 85-18 with 16 playoff wins. At Kennedale, his defenses averaged giving up only 15 pts per game over 10 years, and was ranked the #1 defense in the state in 4A in 2021 and #3 in the state regardless of classification. Coach Littleton was the Head Coach/Athletic Director at New Boston ISD (3A) where he took over a program that had gone 13-57 in the previous 7 seasons with no playoff appearances. In the three years Coach Littleon was at New Boston, he and his staff took the team to three straight playoff appearances and to two consecutive Bi-District titles in the playoffs. He is currently the Defensive Coordinator and Head Wrestling Coach at 6A Cedar Ridge High School in Round Rock, Texas. Coach Littleton and his family are committed to all sports (boys and girls) and programs all the way down to 6th grade Pre-Athletics and will engage with our elementary schools and our Top of Texas Football Program. Coach Littleton comes very highly recommended from many references and has exhibited the experience and abilities needed in BISD athletics. Coach Littleton’s experiences, his commitment to excellence, and his commitment to graduating young men and women of high character align perfectly to the Bulldog Way and to the survey responses provided by our parents and staff. He is intense, passionate, driven, and his enthusiasm is contagious. His wife will be a tremendous asset to the district as she has great experiences in the areas of administration, Career and Technical Education, at-risk coordinator, social media marketing/PR, teacher, girls’ athletics coach, etc. In talking to her, she too is very dynamic! Help us in welcoming Coach Jody Littleton, his wife Amy, and their children, Ava and Arik, to Burkburnett ISD, to Burkburnett, and to Bulldog Nation!

Your BHS Bulldog Soccer teams are off to a great start this season!⚽️ Friday night the Bulldogs traveled to Pilot Point achieving a successful pre-season win of 3-1 over the Bearcats. Today, JV and Varsity players from the boys and girls teams volunteered their time at the second annual Christmas Clinic for our smallest Bulldogs followed by a 3-1 win for the Lady Bulldogs against Perryton at Bulldog Stadium! Way to go, Dogs! ⚽️🐾
