Reminder, Bulldogs! Friday, February 13, is a staff planning day and there will be no school for students. On Monday, February 16, there will be no school for staff or students. Enjoy your long weekend!

This was the first year (as far as I know) that we have had any guitar ensembles perform in the UIL Solo and Ensemble Competition. We had three groups perform:

The guitar trio consisting of Isabel Brantley, Kaylee Green, Kylie Smith received an excellent rating.

The guitar trio consisting of Tripp Willis, Preston Walls, and Morgan Snay received an excellent rating.

The guitar quartet consisting of Tripp Willis, Morgan Snay, Railey Moon, and Jesse Acheson received a superior rating and will be participating in the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Competition in May.

We are very proud of all students who participated and acknowledge the hard work and time they put into learning this music.

A Public Hearing of the Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC) of Burkburnett Independent School District will be held February 25th, beginning at 3:45 pm at the Overton Ray Elementary library. Last Saturday, 45 members of the Bulldog Brigade represented Burkburnett High School at the UIL Region 7 Solo and Ensemble Competition. These students were highly successful, bringing home a total of 66 Superior (First Division) Medals! Of those 45 students, 28 qualified for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest in May. In order to qualify for TSSEC, students must receive a First Division rating on a Class 1 solo, performed from memory, or be a member of a Class 1 Ensemble. We also had 8 students in the band program that are Double Qualifiers for TSSEC!
